Total load
Total electricity load as calculated by Electricity Maps, in MW.
Different system operators might have different definitions for what they report as the total load. Some include losses or exclude storage, while others don't. Electricity Maps calculates total load using a consistent definition across grids, with global coverage.
Calculation
The total-load endpoints return total electricity consumption calculated as follows:
Total load = Total generation - Exports + Imports - Charge + Discharge.
This data can differ from load data as reported by the system operator. Use total reported load to access the latter, or see the load signal comparison for help choosing a signal.
Past Range GET
Get the electricity source for a zone and a given datetime range. > [!CAUTION] > The time range is limited to 10 days (240 hours) for an hourly granularity, and to 100 days for a daily granularity. > If you need more data, **you can loop over time ranges**.
