Carbon intensity

Carbon intensity of electricity, in gCO2eq/kWh.

Carbon intensity represents the greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in grams of CO2 equivalent, per kilowatt-hour of electricity.

Calculation basis

By default, carbon intensity is computed on the flow-traced electricity mix and thus represents the carbon intensity of electricity available on the grid (including imports and exports). It can also be computed based on the domestic generation mix, in which case it represents the carbon intensity of electricity locally generated on the grid.
